Linda Gray (born September 12, 1940 in Santa Monica, California) is an American actress, best known for her role as Larry Hagman's long-suffering wife, Sue Ellen Ewing on the television soap opera Dallas as a recurring character in the series first season in the spring of 1978, and as a regular cast member from 1978 to 1989. She was also a director of the popular show. She returned to the role in the series finale in 1991 and again in the reunion films "J.R. Returns" in 1996 and "The War of the Ewings" in 1998.
